Gavarni Paul Selected works by Gavarni, studies of contemporary manners. Paris, chez Hetzel, 1848. 1 volume large in-8°, period binding in green half-basane with corners. Spine spine with gilt author and gilt title; usual wear and tear, defects in corners. This volume contains 2 albums : the first entitled " la vie de jeune homme " contains 30 lithographed plates in black with caption, the second entitled " les débardeurs " contains 50 lithographed plates in black with caption. Collated on the engraving table, complete. Rare stitching on some of the sheets. Small hole due to a burn, probably from a cigarette, on plate 13 of the first title. Attached from the same illustrator, 1 volume in-8°, brown half-basane with corners, spine with nerves with title piece and date in red morocco. Volume without title page, published by Hetzel in Paris, date indication on the spine, 1849. This volume contains 75 plates of the "gens de Paris" album composed of different series about Paris. Lithographs in black, very rare stitches. That is to say 155 lithographs by Gavarni.
