Joseph SAVINA (1901-1983) Armchair Patinated chestnut Atelier d'Art Celtique, Tréguier, circa 1930 Solid square-section frame, removable seat and back. Stained pine belt. Prototype. The backrest was designed to hold a tapestry. Seat added. Height 89 cm x Length 65 cm x Depth 68 cm The assembly of this armchair is similar to that of the "Ar Braz" furniture set designed by René-Yves Creston and produced by Joseph Savina in 1935, commissioned by Fanch Eliès. This set is preserved in the Musée de Bretagne. Our model, of earlier manufacture, was a trial run that led Joseph Savina towards the production of his armchairs with flattened "T"-section uprights.
