René-Yves CRESTON (1898-1964) - Lot 102
René-Yves CRESTON (1898-1964) Project for coffee spoons Ink and pencil on paper, circa 1925 Project for seven spoons, unsigned, stamped Seiz Breur in red at the top. Titled "Cuillers a Café" and captioned "Galon-Bihan II"; "Bugale-Bihan I"; Galon Dir"... Folds Dim. 30.5 x 20 cm This "Cuillers a Café" (sic) project is particularly elaborate, with R.Y. Creston came back to some of his creations by cross-hatching them in pencil, proof of a long-term process of reflection. These various sketches illustrate the proximity of R.Y. Creston's and Jeanne Malivieux's research work. Creston and Jeanne Malivel, right down to the numbering of the projects. The absence of a signature could corroborate the idea, supported by R.Y. Creston, of a shared conception in the creation of Osté furniture.
