André BATILLAT (1901-1965) - Lot 105
André BATILLAT (1901-1965) Modernist church Project for La Baule les Pins, circa 1927 Mixed media on paper Saint-Nazaire exhibition 1927 Dim. 36 x 29 cm Provenance: former Gaston Sébilleau collection. Bibliography: - Daniel Le Couédic and Jean-Yves Veillard (dir), "Ar Seiz Breur 1923-1947, la création bretonne entre tradition et modernité", ed. Terre de Brume - musée de Bretagne, 2000. André Batillat, a close associate of René-Yves Creston and Gaston Sébilleau, with whom he collaborated closely on the design of his villas in La Baule in particular, created an architecture that broke with modernism but was nevertheless imbued with a regionalist spirit, in the spirit of the Seiz Breur, of which he had been an active member since 1926.
