Joseph SAVINA (1901-1983) - Lot 178
Joseph SAVINA (1901-1983) Armchair Waxed oak, straw seat Atelier d'Art Celtique, Tréguier, circa 1950 Solid oak "T"-section frame with flattened uprights, removable seat and backrests. Height 87.5 Width 61 Depth 60.5 cm While the very modern structure of this armchair was perfected by Savina as early as the late 1920s, making it extremely sturdy and able to accommodate a seat and backrest of the client's choice, its form has evolved over time in line with the influences of the Tregorese cabinetmaker. This type of armchair was intended for a wealthy local clientele and the furnishing of seaside villas.
