Tours, Alfred Mame et fils, 1896/1897. 2 large folio volumes, contemporary binding in red half morocco with corners, gilt fillets, ribbed spines decorated with gilt bunches and ears of corn, author, title and tomaison gilt, untrimmed, covers preserved. 2 small stains on the morocco, corners slightly rubbed, not serious. Luxurious edition illustrated by Tissot with 365 colored intaglio and lithographic compositions. Numbered copy on Marais wove paper, with a tinted suite of all the hors-texts. A fine personal copy, printed and bound for the Duchesse de Doudeauville, née Colbert, with her bookplate.
