Attributed to Charles CRESSENT - circa 1725/1735 Height 87 cm - Width 144 cm - Depth 63.5 cm Charles CRESSENT, 1685-1768 Born in Amiens, his father was a sculptor, and his grandfather, a furniture maker, was also a sculptor. After graduating from the Académie de Saint-Luc in 1714, he moved to Paris in 1719 and became a supplier to the Duc d'Orléans. His clientele included aristocratic figures and major collectors. His talents as a sculptor led him to create the models for his bronzes himself and have them made in his workshops. Throughout his career, Charles CRESSENT maintained a very high reputation. During his lifetime, he was considered the equal of BOULLE. REFERENCES Charles CRESSENT, A.
