SAYASTASHA. This is a representation of the head of the Council of Gods. This Kachina of Zuni origin performs at Shalako festivals and is considered to be one of the permanent Kachina, the kind you can't safely part with. Here, yellow and red dominate. These two colors link this Kachina to both the feminine and masculine worlds. The arms are unusually attached and pegged; painted wood, orange, black and white polychromy (repainted). Height: 27 cm.
