Joseph SAVINA (1901-1983) - Lot 108
Joseph SAVINA (1901-1983) Panthers Large direct-cut sculpture in solid ebony Signed on the base J.Savina Tréguier, Atelier d'Art Celtique, circa 1935 Length 79 cm x Height 18 cm x Width 18 cm Although ebony is a favorite wood of Joseph Savina's, the animal theme here, in pure Art Deco style, is rare in his work. On our impressive sculpture, the artist's gouge marks contrast with the roundness of the felines.
