Portrait of a four-masted barque from the BORDES company. - Lot 219
Portrait of a four-masted barque from the BORDES company. Folk art from France. "Sailor's work". Oil on canvas (probably sailcloth). 41.5x 62 cm. Late 19th century. Restorations. Varnished natural wood frame. Note: The BORDES boat pictured is almost certainly the "CAROLINE". It was built in Nantes in 1895 and ran aground in the Azores in 1901. The shipwreck caused no casualties.
