Large group of four ex-voto bearers White-glazed earthenware Manufacture Henriot Quimper, circa 1928/1930 MM underglaze signature and Henriot Quimper in blue on base. Hair and small chips at base. Length 50 cm x Height 57 cm x Width 24 cm This imposing sculpture features four ex-voto bearers, wives and/or mothers of Terre-neuvas from Paimpol, offering this model of their husbands' or sons' boat as a request for protection, grace or thanks. The Musée Breton in Quimper and the Musée Mathurin Méheut Lamballe-Armor each hold a copy of this piece, which will be presented at the Mathurin Méheut, arpenteur de la Bretagne exhibition at the Musée de Pont-Aven in 2022.
