Silver CAFETIERE (950). BESANCON, Pierre-Antoine GRANDGUILLAUME (received master in 1773), 1782 (letter-date V) (hallmarked under the body only). Pansu model standing on three curved feet terminating in sabots, domed lid with doucine and flat terrace decorated with double fillets, riveted knob grip in the center, shell-shaped thumb rest. Engraved coat of arms below the spout within a shield stamped with a count's crown and supported by two griffins: Or, a broken chevron azure between three crows (?), 2 in chief and 1 in base. Punched lid (boar) detached from the body, but pin present. Traces of repairs on the pane (old shock?), slightly offset poucier shell and later handle. Height 23 cm; Width 18.5 cm; Gross weight 653 g.
