The cabinet of curiosities that had lain dormant for several - Lot 1
The cabinet of curiosities that had lain dormant for several years, in the attic of an 18th-century house in the historic center of Rennes, belonged to the painter François Gurbert and his wife Yvette. The world of this amateur couple adjoined the painter's studio, and we will be presenting a few works from their collections. Egyptian oushebtis, Roman intaglios, 15th-century Auvergne Christ and Flanders heads, a 16th-century Italian Hercules, a 17th-century tortoiseshell cabinet, Far Eastern paintings and African sculptures will be passed on to other enthusiasts, as Madame Gurbert wished. 18th, 19th and modern GOLDWARE
