Large Bouquets of flowers in front of a landscape Pair of rare tapestries by Ateliers de la Marche circa 1600 2.63 x 2.85 m & 2.52 x 2.78 m The highly decorative central composition is framed by a wide border decorated with garlands of flowers and fruit au naturel, tied with ribbons. The four corners of the border feature a dog, a symbol of fidelity. Materials and condition: Woven in wool and silk (warp in wool, weft in wool and silk), the tapestries appear to be in fairly good condition (cleaning would probably be necessary); some old restorations and repainting.
