Scouts are those who go forward to gather information that will help the rest of the group, who have stayed behind, to see things clearly. Brandishing her penn-bazh above the brambles like a torch or communication antenna, the young Breton woman creates links between what she is about to discover and her brothers and sisters. The fire that inhabits us in an incendiary cloud in the last shot, and a water tower topped by an antenna to soothe it, elevate the Armorican figure in the foreground.
