DRAGEOIR in silver (925). PARIS, François FROMENT, 1801-1809. Square base, pedestal with gadrooned ring bordered by a frieze of palmettes. The body is mounted on two uprights with flowered palmettes at the base, surmounted by foliage, and two uprights on which are fixed the curved, flowered handles with duck-head terminations. The wide rim is perforated with redentate motifs and adorned with a diamond-shaped frieze. The slightly domed lid is surmounted by a ring-shaped flowered grip on a circular terrace. Monogram JC engraved on the top of the lid. The glass interior may have been added. Worn decoration on uprights (blunt decoration), slight deformation of lid rim. Both body and lid are marked with the 1798-1809 title mark and the 1819-1838 title mark. Minor damage to the decoration of the uprights and repair welds.
