CAFETIERE in silver (925). PARIS, D. GARREAU (successor to Mignerot), 1819-1838. The oblong body rests on three clawed ball feet with palmette attachments and is encircled by a frieze of water leaves. The neck is surrounded by a pearled frieze, a motif repeated on the rim of the lid, and bordered by a frieze of water leaves. The top handle is in the form of a stylized acorn on a gadrooned terrace. Curved handle in black wood. Spout terminates in a lioness head topped with vine leaves. Chips on the handle. Height 26 cm; gross weight 449.7 g. Expert : Sophie Vergne
