ALEXANDER John Pond yacht, 26 inches. Pond yacht. Hull length 66 cm, height 128.5 cm. White-painted hull, cream-colored deck. Ivory plaque on deck bearing the name of the famous and very important toy store "HAMLEYS - Regent Street - London". Typical and unique ALEXANDER sailboat construction. Classic 1930s sailboat hull. The hull is made from vertical (not horizontal) wooden planks glued together and then carved. Deep canting keel. Safran-shaped lead ballast controlled by a braime bar. Sloop rigging. Spars (aluminum masts and booms). Egyptian cotton sails. Ber unique to ALEXANDER sailboats. Early 1930s.
